Villanova and Syracuse hope to play spoiler, though, potentially opening things up for Louisville or Marquette.

With one week left before the conference tournament, Georgetown has positioned itself to win the Big East regular season title.

At 13-3 in conference play this season, the Hoyas can clinch the regular-season title by winning out. That won't necessarily be easy. Villanova has already shown it relish the role of trap opponent, knocking off both Louisville and Syracuse earlier in the year and taking down Marquette in a win that may have cost the Golden Eagles a shot at the regular-season title. And the Orange won't roll over for the Hoyas, after Otto Porter had 33 points to spoil the day for the biggest on-campus crowd in NCAA history in February.
With a win over Cincinnati on Tuesday night, Louisville is just a half-game behind Georgetown, but their last opponent is a tough one: Notre Dame forced them into five overtimes earlier this year, and eventually won. Marquette might have the easiest finish to the year, with just Rutgers and a .500 St. John's team on the docket, but they also have the most ground to make up.

The top four seeds in the conference tournament receive a first-round bye, so the biggest races remaining in the season will be for those spots. Georgetown, Louisville and Marquette are well-positioned to land three of those, but it’ll be interesting to see how things play out there.
The Big East tournament will start Tuesday, March 12, at Madison Square Garden. The final will be played Saturday, March 16, on ESPN.
