Another Big 12 men's basketball season is coming to an end and the Kansas Jayhawks are in prime position to end the season atop the standings again. Their in-state rival, the Kansas St. Wildcats, sit just behind them with two games left to play, including their final regular season game against the Oklahoma St. Cowboys. The Jayhawks have just one game left, against the Baylor Bears, so a win in that game locks up the top spot in the standings for good.
Big 12 basketball 2013 standings: Wildcats and Jayhawks on top
Both schools in Kansas are first and second in the Big 12 conference ahead of the league tournament next week.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are currently sitting in seventh place, one spot out of a first-round bye but will need to win twice this week against the Iowa St. Cyclones and Oklahoma Sooners to catch the Bears. The Texas Longhorns can only improve their seeding in the first round as they currently sit in eighth place in the conference. The Texas Tech Red Raiders and TCU Horned Frogs are locked into their spots for the conference tournament as they sit in the ninth and 10th spots in the Big 12 respectively.
The conference tournament gets under way Wednesday, March 13 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
