Lehigh Mountain Hawks star guard C.J. McCollum will not play on Wednesday in the Patriot League quarterfinals against Colgate, according to head coach Brett Reid (via CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman).

McCollum has been rehabbing from a broken foot he sustained on Jan. 5 against VCU. While he was still wearing a walking boot as of a week ago, McCollum has progressed to participating in light basketball activities and is healing well, Reed told Michael Lore of The Express-Times.

Prior to the injury, McCollum averaged 23.9 points per game which, if he appeared in enough games to qualify, would be second in the country behind Virginia Tech's Erick Green.

Without its star player, Lehigh finished 10-4 during the regular season in Patriot League play, and 20-8 overall. Two of the Mountain Hawks’ losses came against Lafayette, the team Lehigh will face in the next round if it gets out of the quarterfinals.

Last season, McCollum led the Mountain Hawks to a first-round upset of Duke in the NCAA Tournament.
