2013 Atlantic Sun Tournament results and bracket: Stetson, USC Upstate advance

The first round of the Atlantic Sun Tournament is in the books, with Stetson and USC Upstate moving on to the semifinals by winning on Thursday.

The Stetson Hatters and South Carolina Upstate Spartans advanced to the second round of the 2013 Atlantic Sun Tournament on Thursday.

Stetson, the No. 3 seed, routed East Tennessee State, 67-46, and will move on to face second-seeded Florida Gulf Coast. Adam Pegg scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Willie Green added 13 points and 13 boards to allow the Hatters to move on.

Five players scored in double figures to help No. 5 South Carolina Upstate upend No. 4 Jacksonville, 76-62, setting up a meeting with top-seeded Mercer.

Mercer and USC Upstate will tip off at 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday at Hawkins Arena in Macon, Ga., with Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast squaring off upon completion of the first game. The winners of the games on Friday will battle for a spot in the NCAA Tournament in the Atlantic Sun Championship Game on Saturday.
