Wisconsin vs. Michigan State final score: Spartans rout Badgers, 58-43

The Michigan St. Spartans played tough defense against the Wisconsin Badgers all night and ended up winning a blowout.

The No. 10 Michigan State Spartans had no issues at home against a ranked opponent, easily dispatching the No. 22 Wisconsin Badgers, 58-43.

Wisconsin hung around during the first half, trailing by only seven after the first 20 minutes. Michigan State then went on a 16-2 run to start the second half, and never let the Badgers back in the game.

The Spartans played tough defense against Wisconsin all night, holding the road team to a 29.4 field-goal percentage. The Spartans also did a good job forcing turnovers, collecting 16 steals during the game.

Keith Appling led all scorers with 19 points, sinking all six of his two-point attempts. Adreian Payne finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds, while Gary Harris chipped in 11 points.

Ben Brust was the only Wisconsin player in double digits with ten points, while Ryan Evans added nine.

The win pushes MSU into a three-way tie for second place in the Big Ten at 12-5, alongside the Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Badgers fall to 11-6 on the season and currently sit fifth in the standings.
