The Drake Bulldogs and Missouri State Bears advanced to the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference quarterfinals after winning first-round games at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Thursday.

Drake used a 37-9 advantage in bench scoring over the Bradley Braves to roll to an 81-66 victory in the early game. Chris Hines led the Bulldogs with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Drake will face the top-seeded Creighton Bluejays at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.

Missouri State jumped out to a 10-point halftime lead and held on to defeat Southern Illinois, 61-53, in the nightcap. Awaiting the Bears are the No. 2 Wichita State Shockers. That game is slated for a 7 p.m. ET tip off.

No. 4 Evansville will face No. 5 Indiana State upon completion of the Drake-Creighton contest, while No. 3 Northern Iowa and No. 6 Illinois State square off at 9:30 p.m. ET to close out the day.

All four Missouri Valley quarterfinal games can be seen on MVC TV, and an updated bracket can be found here.
