2013 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament schedule and bracket: Belmont, Murray State clash in final

The Ohio Valley Conference’s automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament is up for grabs Saturday night.

USA TODAY Sports

The 12-team Ohio Valley Conference will decide who represents it in the NCAA Tournament Saturday night in the conference tournament final between the Belmont Bruins and the Murray St. Racers at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Bruins, the No. 1 seed, are trying to win the Ohio Valley tournament in their first year in the league. The Bruins have won the Atlantic Sun tournament five times since 2006, including each of the past two seasons, and are trying to keep their success going. The Bruins, led by Ian Clark’s 26 points, beat Tennessee State, 82-73, in the semifinals to advance to the championship game.

Facing the Bruins will be Murray State and two-time OVC Player of the Year Isaiah Canaan. The Racers have slumped of late, losing the last two games of the regular season against Tennessee-Martin and SE Missouri State, and four of their last six. However, Canaan and the Racers won the OVC tournament last year, so experience is on their side to turn it around.

The full bracket can be viewed here.
