Markel Starks made 5-of-9 three-point attempts and finished with 19 points as the No. 5 Georgetown Hoyas clinched the 2013 Big East regular-season championship by cruising to a 61-39 victory over the No. 17 Syracuse Orange on Saturday at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

Three of Starks' long-range jumpers came in the second half, and the last of the daggers gave Georgetown a 16-point lead with less than 10 minutes left in the game, effectively sealing the victory for the Hoyas in front of their home crowd on Senior Day.
Wooden Award finalist Otto Porter Jr. filled up the box score with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Georgetown's defense held Syracuse to a season low in points while forcing 14 turnovers and coming up with nine steals. Syracuse shot just 32.6 percent from the field.
Michael Carter-Williams scored 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting to lead the Orange.
