No. 9 Kansas State vs. No. 13 Oklahoma State final score: Cowboys knock off Wildcats, 76-70

Kansas State squandered an opportunity to win the outright Big 12 regular-season title and accompanying No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament after blowing a nine-point second half lead against Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Wooden Award finalist Marcus Smart finished with 21 points, six assists and six rebounds to lift the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys to a 76-70 victory over the No. 9 Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.

Smart did a little bit of everything for Oklahoma State, including making a good defensive play with less than a minute left to stop Kansas State’s Angel Rodriguez from scoring. After coming down with the rebound, Smart was fouled and made a pair of free throws to give his team a three-possession lead.

Le’Bryan Nash scored 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting for the Cowboys (23-7, 13-5 Big 12), who clinched the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 Conference Tournament, which starts on Wednesday.

Rodney McGruder finished with 22 points for the Wildcats (25-6, 14-4 Big 12), who now need No. 4 Kansas to lose to Baylor on Saturday to earn a share of the regular-season conference title.
