NBA Draft 2013: Victor Oladipo undecided about entering

Victor Oladipo’s stock is about as high as it can be, but the Indiana junior says he hasn’t really given thought to whether or not to enter the NBA Draft this season.

Indiana Hoosiers star -- and now All-American -- Victor Oladipo was asked about his prospects of entering the NBA Draft a year early by ESPN's Andy Katz, and was extremely non-committal about the concept of leaving Indiana before his senior year.

“I haven’t even really thought about that yet,” the 6-foot-4 guard said. “I’ve been thinking about Indiana basketball. Just being with these guys and getting better. That’s one thing I’ve been really thinking about, just getting better as a basketball player.”

The question is how much better Oladipo can get. When he came to the Hoosiers two years ago, it was tough to imagine the rangy recruit turning into an elite player. He was a decent perimeter defender, but had no semblance of a jumper, couldn’t score off the dribble and wasn’t considered one of the top 100 players in his high school class.

But how much room is left to grow? Draft Express has him as the No. 5 pick in the upcoming draft. Although he didn’t win the NCAA Tournament, he’s established himself as an all-around player and was a bright spot in his team’s loss. His stock could still hypothetically improve, but it would be tough to imagine him growing even further from where he is now. Going pro would likely be the wise option for Oladipo. He’s an incredible athlete and that will fit in right away at the NBA level.
