The sultry sounds of Luther Vandross once again tickled the ears of viewers of the NCAA Tournament final during Louisville’s championship celebration, as CBS compiled their annual “One Shining Moment” video. The tradition is a fan favorite and will no doubt have Twitter’s IT guys earning their paycheck.
One Shining Moment 2013: March Madness moments celebrated
CBS continued its annual tradition of playing “One Shining Moment” after the national champion Louisville Cardinals cut down the nets.

Originally written and performed by David Barrett, the song took on a new life when Vandross took over the duties. The song is actually one of the last recordings of the late soul singer and has been used since 2003. The lone year it wasn’t used was 2010 when Jennifer Hudson did a version, but fan response was poor CBS decided to give the people what they want -- more Vandross.
After the Cardinals cut down the nets, a montage of moments from this year’s tournament were shown with the song playing in the background. Check out this year’s version below.
