Doug McDermott will attend the USA Basketball men's national team minicamp in Las Vegas next week.
Creighton’s Doug McDermott invited to Team USA mini-camp
McDermott led Team USA with 14.1 points per game at the World University Games earlier this month.

McDermott is one of two college players to receive an invitation, with the other being sophomore guard Marcus Smart of Oklahoma State University. The remainder of the players headed to Las Vegas are all yet to play their first NBA game.
“It will be a great opportunity for me to play against some of the elite young NBA players and learn from some of the best coaches,” McDermott said in a statement.
McDermott, who will be a senior with Creighton next season, averaged 23.2 points and 7.7 rebounds last year while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 49 percent from deep. He was named as a Naismith Award finalist last spring, which is given to the best player in college basketball.
Earlier in July, McDermott represented Team USA at the World University Games and averaged a team-high 14.1 points per game.
