Syracuse picks up PG Kaleb Joseph commitment

He’s the second Orange commit in the Class of 2014.

USA TODAY Sports

Class of 2014 point guard Kaleb Joseph, a consensus four-star recruit, committed to play for the Syracuse Orange during an official visit this weekend, Joseph tweeted.

The 6’2 point guard from Ashburnham, Mass., had offers from several schools, but he had narrowed his choices down to Syracuse, West Virginia and Providence before committing to the Orange over the weekend, Adam Finkelstein of ESPN.com said.

Joseph chose Syracuse despite the fact he’ll land on campus just one year behind five-star point guard Tyler Ennis. Joseph said Syracuse was his dream school all along, according to Finkelstein.

“It’s always been my dream school, and I just don’t think there are many people who have the opportunity to do what they have dreamed about since they were young,” Joseph said. “To work so hard for so long and then have God put the opportunity in front of me, it just felt right.”

ESPN rated Joseph as the No. 51 overall prospect and No. 10 point guard in the Class of 2014. He’s the second to commit to Syracuse in the Class of 2014. He joins Chris McCullough, a five-star power forward from the Bronx who Rivals rated the No. 13 overall prospect in the class.
