JaKeenan Gant, a 6'8 forward whom ESPN ranks as the No. 37 overall recruit in the Class of 2014, committed to the Missouri Tigers on an official visit Sunday, ESPN.com's Dave Telep reported.
Missouri lands commitment from JaKeenan Gant
Frank Haith has landed another highly touted recruit in Columbia.

The Springfield, Ga., native also had the Georgia Bulldogs, Louisville Cardinals, Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Hurricanes among others on his short list before pledging his commitment to Missouri coach Frank Haith. Telep said Gant felt comfortable in Columbia on his visit this weekend, prompting the commitment.
For Gant, the reason he decided to commit to Missouri focused around the climate Haith fostered with him during his recruitment. When on campus, Gant felt a familial atmosphere and a trust in what his future head coach told him.
“Whatever they say is going to happen will,” Gant said. “They’re down-to-earth people.”
Telep characterized Gant as a player whose strength is his offensive game facing the basket. He's the second high-school commitment to Missouri in the Class of 2014, joining three-star small forward Chris Sandifer. Division I transfers Deuce Bello (Baylor) and Zach Price (Louisville) are also members of the class that will first hit the floor for Haith a year from now.
