McDonald’s All-American and top high school recruit Chris Walker is not enrolled in classes at the University of Florida for the 2013 fall semester and is not listed on the basketball team’s roster, according to Nicole Auerbach of USA Today Sports.
Florida’s top recruit Chris Walker not enrolled for fall semester
The Gators roster doesn’t include their most highly-anticipated newcomer.

The deadline to add or drop classes passed on Tuesday, which was also the final day a student could enroll for the fall. Prior reports are that Walker never planned to enroll for the fall, instead choosing to take time off and work toward becoming academically eligible. He is expected to enroll at Florida in December if his academics have been sorted out by then.
Head coach Billy Donovan declined comment when asked about the situation. Coaches are forbidden by the NCAA to speak about unsigned players who are not on the team's roster. The letter of intent he signed now becomes null and void as a result, and he is once again considered a recruit.
Walker, a 6-foot-10 power forward out of Florida’s Holmes County High School, won the high school slam dunk competition before the All-American game at United Center in April, beating out Aaron Gordon and Jabari Parker. Walker was graded as the No. 12 overall recruit in ESPN’s top 100 and the fourth-best at his position.
