Ohio State vs. Nebraska final score: No. 3 Buckeyes cruise to 84-53 win

Ohio State remains undefeated after a big second half pushed them past the Cornhuskers.

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes are now 15-0 after dispatching the Nebraska Cornhuskers 84-53 in their second Big 10 game of the season.

After a competitive first half, Ohio State pulled away in the second, outscoring Nebraska 44-23 over the final 20 minutes.

Sophomore guard Amedeo Della Valle led the Buckeyes in scoring with 15 points, and freshman Marc Loving and junior Shannon Scott each added 13.

Sophomore forward Terran Petteway led the way for Nebraska, going 5-of-12 from the floor for 15 points.

The game was somewhat tight early on, with Nebraska holding a 14-10 lead at one point and trailing by just six as late as the the first half’s final minute. Ohio State closed the half with back-to-back buckets followed by a pair of free throws to head into intermission with a 40-30 lead.

Nebraska falls to 8-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Cornhuskers opened their Big 10 slate with a 67-57 loss to No. 22 Iowa on New Year’s Eve.
