What’s at stake on Championship Week Saturday? 14 NCAA Tournament bids, and more
The day before Selection Sunday is the most pivotal day of the college basketball season. Let’s walk you through what each game means.

Stony Brook, N.Y. — 11:30 a.m., ESPN2 or WatchESPN
This is a game for the America East’s auto-bid; nothing else is really on the line. Stony Brook’s at home, so expect the Seawolves to win.
Conference USA Tournament final: Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
El Paso, — 11:35 a.m., CBS or CBS Sports Online
C-USA’s auto-bid is on the line, but neither of these teams is on or near the bubble, so there’s nothing else in play. Louisiana Tech just knocked off C-USA No. 1 seed Southern Miss on Friday, if you’re looking for the favorite.
SEC Tournament semifinal: Florida Gators vs. Tennessee Volunteers
Atlanta — 1 p.m., ABC
Florida's playing for the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, while Tennessee's just looking to make sure it stays within the field. If you're a bubble team fan, you're definitely rooting for Florida: Tennessee was a likely candidate to head to the deathtrap that is the First Four play-in games in Dayton before catching fire of late, and isn't entirely out of the woods in that regard just yet.
ACC Tournament semifinal: Virginia Cavaliers vs. Pittsburgh Panthers
Greensboro, N.C. — 1 p.m., ESPN or WatchESPN
Virginia’s got the faintest of possible No. 1 seed hopes — the ‘Hoos are probably behind Wisconsin, Duke, and Michigan in the current pecking order — but can’t get that No. 1 seed without winning the ACC Tournament. Pitt is finally safely within the NCAA Tournament field after a Friday upset of North Carolina, but could work its way out of a dreaded No. 8/No. 9 line by taking down Virginia, and could climb even higher if it can knock off Virginia and Duke.
Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinal: Saint Joseph's Hawks vs. St. Bonaventure Bonnies
Brooklyn — 1:30 p.m., CBS Sports Network
Good luck finding CBS Sports Network, but cheer for Saint Joseph’s if you’re a bubble fan: The Hawks are probably in the NCAA Tournament, win or lose, but the Bonnies’ bid lies only in an A-10 Tournament title.
Big Ten Tournament semifinal: Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
Indianapolis — 1:40 p.m., CBS or CBS Sports Online
It’s a rivalry, sure, but you could’ve fooled Ohio State this year: Michigan beat the Buckeyes by 10 on the road, and the teams only met once in the regular season. The Wolverines have No. 1 seed aspirations, while Ohio State has hopes of getting to the No. 5 line and dodging a No. 3 seed.
Sun Belt Tournament semifinal: Georgia State Panthers vs. Arkansas State Red Wolves
New Orleans — 3 p.m., ESPN3
Georgia State is good enough to win an NCAA Tournament game, but not good enough to make the NCAA Tournament without the Sun Belt’s auto-bid. Arkansas State is off a four-overtime win, though, so the Panthers will have significantly more energy — in theory.
SEC Tournament semifinal: Kentucky Wildcats vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Atlanta — 3 p.m., ABC
Kentucky’s playing for seeding and pride, but it’s hard to see the Wildcats getting higher than the No. 5 line even if they win the whole SEC Tournament and take down Florida in the process. Georgia, meanwhile, is the SEC’s No. 3 seed, and a potential bid thief, though the Dawgs would have to take down Kentucky and one of Florida or Tennessee to make that larceny a reality. Root for Big Blue, bubble fans.
ACC Tournament semifinal: Duke Blue Devils vs. N.C. State Wolfpack
Greensboro, N.C. — 3 p.m., ESPN or WatchESPN
There’s probably only one way into the NCAA Tournament for N.C. State: Winning the ACC Tournament. If the Wolfpack can get past Duke — who are playing for seeding, and have legitimate No. 1 seed hopes — then old foe Virginia, who have been bedeviled by N.C. State at the ACC Tournament over the years, is all that stands in their way.
Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinal: VCU Rams vs. George Washington Colonials
Brooklyn — 4:00 p.m., CBS Sports Network
Both teams are safely in the NCAA Tournament, but VCU’s got an outside shot at making it to the No. 5 line if it keeps impressing. The former Colonial power will have to knock off the Colonials to make that happen, while George Washington is fighting to stay away from the No. 8/No. 9 danger zone.
Big Ten Tournament semifinal: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State Spartans
Indianapolis — 4:10 p.m., CBS or CBS Sports Online
Wisconsin has No. 1 seed designs, and the inside track to it right this second. But the Badgers will have to avoid a loss to the Spartans, who are trying to stay off the upset-ripe No. 5 line.
SWAC Tournament final: Texas Southern Tigers vs. Prairie View A&M Panthers
Houston — 4:30 p.m., ESPN2 or WatchESPN
Both teams are playing for the SWAC’s auto-bid; 12-win Prairie View would be an unlikely champion and NCAA Tournament team, indeed.
Sun Belt Tournament semifinal: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs. Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns
New Orleans — 5:30 p.m., ESPN3
Two good teams playing for the right to be in an NCAA Tournament play-in game in the Sun Belt final. Nothing more, nothing less.
Pac-12 Tournament final: Arizona Wildcats vs. UCLA Bruins
Las Vegas — 6 p.m., Fox Sports 1
The Wildcats are serving in the final set of their match with Florida for the No. 1 overall seed, and holding against UCLA would be enough to keep ‘Zona in line for that top spot; losing, though, won’t knock the ‘Cats off the No. 1 line. UCLA, on the other hand, is looking to escape the No. 5 line.
AAC Tournament final: Louisville Cardinals vs. UConn Huskies
Memphis — 6 p.m., ESPN or WatchESPN
Piping-hot Louisville could secure a spot as a No. 3 seed — and maybe put itself in position for a miraculous No. 2 seed if enough dominoes fall — with a win over the Huskies. UConn’s looking to be a No. 5 or a No. 6 that misses the most beastly No. 3.
Mountain West Tournament final: San Diego State Aztecs vs. New Mexico Lobos
Las Vegas — 6 p.m., CBS Sports Network
San Diego State has more on the line in this rubber match of the two best MWC teams: The Aztecs could move up to the No. 3 line with a win over the Lobos. New Mexico’s just looking to avoid that No. 8/No. 9 line — something a lot of No. 1 seeds should be rooting for, too.
Norfolk, Va. — 6 p.m., ESPNU or WatchESPN
North Carolina Central’s the MEAC’s best team ever, arguably, but they can’t make the NCAA Tournament without that auto-bid. Morgan State got to .500 with a Friday win. Should be easy for the Eagles, right? Not so fast: N.C. Central’s meeting with Morgan State in the regular season was a close call resulting in a 53-52 win for the Eagles.
MAC Tournament final: Western Michigan Broncos vs. Toledo Rockets
Cleveland — 6:30 p.m., ESPN2 or WatchESPN
Both the Broncos and Rockets have 22 wins and 14 conference wins — Toledo actually has 27 — but neither team has an NCAA Tournament case without that MAC auto-bid.
Big Sky Tournament final: Weber State Wildcats vs. North Dakota
Ogden, Ut. — 8 p.m., ESPNU or WatchESPN
The Wildcats are the Big Sky’s best team, and at home. North Dakota has no mascot and is on the road. All that’s up for grabs is a dance ticket for the winner.
New York City — 8:30 p.m., Fox Sports 1
Creighton’s probably locked into a No. 3 seed, win or lose — but the Bluejays would probably like to win the Big East Tournament in their first year in the Big East, and Doug McDermott’s gunning for the record for scoring average in a Big East Tournament. Likewise, Providence is probably going to make the NCAA Tournament — but the Friars would probably like a win to keep them out of the First Four for sure.
Southland Tournament final: Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks vs. Sam Houston St. Bearkats
Katy, Tx. — 8:30 p.m., ESPN2 or WatchESPN
Stephen F. Austin is on a 27-game winning streak. If that comes to an end at the Bearkats’ hands, the Lumberjacks probably won’t be dancing. So go get No. 28, ‘Jacks.
Big 12 Tournament final: Iowa State Cyclones vs. Baylor Bears
Kansas City, Mo. — 9 p.m., ESPN or WatchESPN
No, you’re not seeing things: That’s Iowa State and Baylor, not Kansas. The Cyclones probably can’t rise beyond the No. 3 line, but they could draw the least of the No. 14 seeds and the least of the No. 2 seeds with an impressive win here. Baylor is probably playing to draw the least of the No. 11s — and, given Scott Drew’s boom-or-bust NCAA Tournament history, it would behoove the Bears to win.
WAC Tournament final: New Mexico State Aggies vs. Idaho Vandals
Las Vegas — 10 p.m., ESPNU or WatchESPN
The Aggies are the WAC’s best team, and have to win this game to make the NCAA Tournament. But the Vandals knocked off the WAC’s No. 1 team, Utah Valley, on Friday; they will be ready to claim that berth for their own.
Anaheim — 10:30 p.m., ESPN2 or WatchESPN
The weirdest is last: These are the No. 5 and No. 7 teams in the Big West, and they have criss-cross-applesauced the Big West Tournament bracket, thanks to the conference’s re-seeding provision. Now they meet in the Big West final ... where 12-19 Cal Poly are plausibly the favorite, given their two regular-season wins over the Matadors.
