Michigan got hot early, running away from Texas to advance to the Sweet 16.

The Michigan Wolverines will advance to their second-straight Sweet 16, blowing past Texas, 79-65. Nik Stauskas hit three early triples, then held off the Longhorns by getting his teammates involved.
Stauskas, still making his case to be a First Team All-American, finished with 17 points and eight assists. His first-half lob to Glenn Robinson III was the highlight of the game:
The Wolverines shot 14-of-28 from three, recording a school record for makes in a Tournament game. Glenn Robinson III, Derrick Walton Jr., Zak Irvin and Caris LeVert joined Stauskas in hitting multiple treys.
Texas got poor shooting days from its backcourt, with Isaiah Taylor, Javan Felix and Demarcus Holland combining to shoot 11-of-34 from the field. Taylor had a team-high 22, adding five assists in the loss.
Michigan will play the winner of Tennessee and Mercer. The Volunteers are the only team remaining from the First Four after winning their Round of 64 game against Massachusetts.
