2014 Women’s NCAA Tournament bracket and schedule: UConn faces St. Joe’s, South Carolina clashes with Oregon State
The No. 1 seeded UConn Huskies and South Carolina Gamecocks face No. 9 seeds in the round of 32.
The Sweet 16 field will be set in the women’s NCAA Tournament following an eight-game schedule on Tuesday that’s highlighted by the No. 1 seed Connecticut Huskies facing the No. 9 St. Joe’s Hawks.
Geno Auriemma’s 35-0 crew comes off an 87-44 win against Prairie View A&M to open its NCAA Tournament, and at 7 p.m. ET the Huskies face a Hawks team that dropped the eighth-seeded Georgia Bulldogs 67-57 two days prior.
The first round of games will also see two 4-5 matchups as Michigan State and North Carolina meet in Chapel Hill, N.C., while Texas and Maryland square off in College Park, Md. Third-seeded Penn State and 11th-seeded Florida round out the early time slot.
At 9:30 p.m. ET, No. 1 South Carolina plays No. 9 Oregon State in Seattle, while No. 2 seed West Virginia, No. 3 seed Louisville and No. 3 seed Texas A&M will try to avoid upset bids.
