NCAA Tournament bracket and results: Kentucky, UConn march on to Final Four
Aaron Harrison’s game-winner sent the Wildcats to the Final Four, while the Huskies upset Michigan State on Sunday afternoon behind Shabazz Napier’s big day.
Florida, Wisconsin and now the Connecticut Huskies and Kentucky Wildcats have punched their tickets to the 2014 Final Four.
UConn outlasted Michigan State behind a gutsy performance from Shabazz Napier. It was a battle from the opening tip at Madison Square Garden, but Napier sank a couple of key jumpers down the stretch and made three crucial free throws in the final minute to essentially put the nail in the Spartans’ coffin. The senior guard drew comparisons to Kemba Walker from all of the analysts during the second half, and Walker himself chimed in on the performance.
Best PG in the country. Shabazz Napier
— Kemba walker (@KembaWalker) March 30, 2014 The win sets up a showdown between Florida and UConn in the Final Four. Napier and the Huskies beat the Gators on a wild buzzer-beater back in December.
March Madness
Kentucky won a thriller over Michigan, 75-72, in what was one of the best games of the entire season. With the score tied, freshman guard Aaron Harrison drilled a three-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining to send the Wildcats into their third Final Four in four years.
UK will take on Wisconsin next weekend, and the opening betting lines actually like the Wildcats to win despite being a No. 8 seed.
