The Missouri Tigers will lose leading scorer Jabari Brown, who announced he will go pro.

Guard Jabari Brown declared himself for the 2014 NBA Draft and has decided to forgo his senior season, barring a change of heart by April 15. He announced his decision on Wednesday.

“This was a step I needed to take in order to make the most educated decision possible with regards to my NBA opportunities,” Jabari Brown said. “My time here at Mizzou has been incredible. This is a special place and a second home for me. However, I must approach this looking at the bigger picture. This is a decision that impacts my family as well and that is most important to me.”

Brown, a 6’5, 214-pound shooting guard, averaged 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game during his junior season while shooting 47 percent overall and 41 percent from three-point range. After transferring from Oregon following a brief stint during his freshman year with the Ducks, Brown averaged 13.7 points and 3.4 rebounds as a sophomore for Mizzou coach Frank Haith.

DraftExpress currently projects Brown, whose best skill is his shooting, to go 13th overall in the second round of this summer's draft. He joins Tigers guard Jordan Clarkson, who also decided to leave after his junior year.

Brown has not hired an agent, according to the Kansas City Star, meaning he could withdraw his name from the draft by April 15 if his stock projections don’t come back in his favor.
