Final Four 2014, Kentucky vs. Wisconsin score update: Badgers lead at halftime, 40-36

Kentucky made a late surge at the end of the half, but Wisconsin still leads by four points at halftime.

The Wisconsin Badgers overcame a late push by the Kentucky Wildcats and lead, 40-36, at halftime in the second game of the Final Four.

James Young had the hot shooting hand early on, scoring seven of Kentucky's first nine points, but the rest of the Wildcats struggled to find the basket. Wisconsin took advantage of clumsy turnovers to open up a 10-0 run, but Kentucky responded with five unanswered points to get back within two. Despite that brief run, the Wildcats couldn't get ahead of Wisconsin.

The Badgers were up by as many as eight points, but Kentucky made things interesting at the end of the half, pulling to within four points and heading into the locker room with some momentum.

Marcus Lee helped Kentucky's cause with this sick jam.

Wisconsin shot 40.7 percent from the floor and Kentucky made 53.8 percent. The Badgers made all fourteen of their free throws, which could prove to be the difference in an otherwise tightly contested game.

Kentucky had a scare when Julius Randle limped off the court, but he was able to return to the game, missing only a couple of minutes. Randle finished the half with nine points and Young added nine of his own.

Kaminsky has had a quiet night for the Badgers, managing only two points. Sam Dekker and Bronson Koenig are Wisconsin's leading scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
