Kentucky’s best freshman big man will be eligible this season after some poking and prodding by the NCAA. Skal Labissiere, a top recruit and a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, has been cleared by the NCAA and will be able to play for Kentucky this season, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.
Skal Labissiere is eligible for Kentucky, according to report
Arguably the top freshman big man in the country is good to go for Kentucky.

Labissiere is the next in a long line of great Kentucky big men under John Calipari that goes from DeMarcus Cousins to Anthony Davis to Nerlens Noel to Karl-Anthony Towns. Labissiere is currently projected as the top pick in the 2016 draft by DraftExpress and SB Nation.
Labissiere’s recruitment was notoriously bizarre, which led to the NCAA looking into his eligibility. Labissiere was ruled ineligible by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association after trying to transfer ahead of his senior season of high school, then played for an upstart school called “Reach Your Dreams,” which was started by his guardian Gerald Hamilton, who helped bring Labissiere to the United States from Haiti.
Hamilton reportedly openly asked others how to profit off Labissiere while he was still in high school, according to CBS.
