The top player in the class of 2017 is transferring to play alongside the No. 1 player in the class of 2018. DeAndre Ayton, a 7-footer from the Bahamas, has transferred from Balboa City in San Diego to Hillcrest in Arizona, where he’ll team up with power forward Marvin Bagley III, the consensus top sophomore in the country.

Ayton was ranked as the No. 1 pro prospect in high school by this website earlier this year. Bagley was No. 5 on the same list. Here’s a look at Ayton (right) and Bagley holding up their jerseys:

Hillcrest is a prep school in its first season that will play a national schedule and is not part of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Bagley made the decision to transfer to Hillcrest after leading Tempe Corona del Sol High School to a state title as a freshman.

Bagley’s brother, Marcus, a 6’5 eighth-grader, will also play for the high school team this upcoming season.
