NCAA bracket 2015: Villanova Wildcats earn top seed in East Region
Villanova’s 32-2 season, capped off with Big East regular-season and tournament championships, earned the Wildcats their first No. 1 seed since 2006.

The No. 1 seed Villanova Wildcats, who completed their brilliant regular season with the Big East tournament championship, headline the East Region of the NCAA Tournament. The East Region will go through the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y., and send its champion to the Final Four in Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium.
Villanova won its first Big East tournament since 1995 with a rollicking 69-52 win over the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday night, capping off a 32-2 regular season that included a 15-game winning streak heading into the Wildcats' NCAA Tournament opener in Pittsburgh against No. 16 Lafayette. These Wildcats are the hottest team in the country this side of the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats.
The region’s No. 2 seed is Virginia, widely considered a contender for the final No. 1 seed but ultimately left a bit short by losing two of its last three games.
Below are the first-round matchups for the East Region.
