Iowa vs. Gonzaga 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch March Madness online

Gonzaga goes for its first trip to the Sweet 16 since 2009 against Fran McCaffery’s Iowa Hawkeyes.

SB Nation 2015 March Madness Bracket

Over the last few years, the knock against Gonzaga has been that, although it can dominate a weaker conference, once it reaches the NCAA Tournament it is prone to faltering against tougher competition. The No. 2 seed Bulldogs will try to put an end to that talk on Sunday when they face No. 7 Iowa for a spot in the Sweet 16.

Gonzaga advanced by holding off a pesky North Dakota State team in the Second Round, 86-76, while the Hawkeyes demolished No. 10 Davidson 83-52.

Gonzaga is in the NCAA Tournament for the 17th consecutive year, but the Bulldogs have not reached the Elite Eight since the first year of that stretch in 1999. That year was also the last time that Iowa reached the Sweet 16.

As a No. 2 seed, the Bulldogs may have a bit of a home-court advantage with the game being played in Seattle, just a few hours from Spokane. But it will take more than that to knock off the Hawkeyes. Senior Aaron White has been the leader all year for Iowa and he poured 26 on Davidson on 11-of-14 shooting in what was the most lopsided 7-10 game ever. Mike Gesell added 15 points and six assists, and as a team Iowa shot 51 percent from the field. The Hawkeyes also outrebounded Davidson, 46-30, with nine different players pulling down a board.

Not that Gonzaga is an easy out either. The Bulldogs lead the nation in field goal percentage, with Kyle Wiltjer and Kevin Pangos able to score in bunches. Wiltjer led the way on Friday with 23 points against North Dakota State. Pangos had 18 more, including four threes.

This is the seventh year in a row that Gonzaga has reached the Round of 32, with the Bulldogs falling short of the Sweet 16 each of the last five times. As a No. 8 seed last year, Gonzaga lost by 23 to top-seeded Arizona. Iowa, meanwhile, fell to Tennessee in the First Four last year.

No. 11 UCLA already awaits the winner of this game. The Bruins punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 by beating UAB on Saturday, 92-75.
