NIT bracket and schedule 2015: Top seeds Temple and Old Dominion in action

The final top-seeded teams play the final third-seeded teams. The winner moves on to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden.

SB Nation 2015 March Madness Bracket

After a strong opening weekend in the NCAA Tournament, it's easy to forget that the NIT Tournament has been going for some time. Wednesday brings the final two quarterfinal contests between top-seeded Temple and Louisiana Tech and No. 1 Old Dominion and Murray State.

Temple overcame a tough-nosed, defensively sound George Washington team by getting a good amount of wide open shots, putting up 90 points over the club. Louisiana Tech beat Texas A&M by 12 behind a 25-point performance by Alex Hamilton. The Bulldogs lost to Temple earlier in the season by seven points.

Fellow No. 1 seed Old Dominion will host Murray State. The Monarchs advanced past Illinois State for their 23rd straight home win on a one-point victory. Both teams shot abysmally from the field and Illinois State missed their final two free throws with a chance to take the lead. Murray State wrecked Tulsa on the road in its last game by 21 and would be going for its 30th win this season against the Monarchs.

Each of the winners Wednesday will play in Madison Square Garden at the end of March for the NIT title. Here’s a complete look at Wednesday’s schedule (all times Eastern):

7 p.m.: No. 1 Old Dominion vs. No. 3 Murray State

9 p.m.: No. 1 Temple vs. No. 3 Louisiana State
