Lonzo Ball’s brother calls a halfcourt shot mid-game and swishes it

LaMelo Ball is hitting ridiculously deep threes just like his famous older brother.

Lonzo Ball has moved on to UCLA, but Chino Hills High School still puts on the best spectacle in basketball at any level. Chino Hills won its 47th straight game on Monday behind the two remaining Ball brothers, senior LiAngelo and sophomore LaMelo. This program is known for its, uh, ambitious offensive game plan and it keeps paying off.

Just look at LaMelo casually pulling up from the halfcourt line to swish a three.

If that looks familiar, it’s because the youngest Ball pulls from midcourt all the time. Here’s another one from earlier this year off the opening tip:

The full highlights of Monday’s game include more deep threes, a ton of full-court outlet passes and an alley-oop from LaMelo where he bounces the ball off the ground, then off the backcourt to a teammate for the dunk.

The Balls have been doing this all year. LiAngelo scored 56 points and 72 points in back-to-back games earlier this season. To this point, no one can beat them. Meanwhile, Lonzo is leading an undefeated UCLA team and establishing himself as a lock to be a top-10 NBA draft pick in June. He’s shooting some deep threes himself. It must run in the family.

LiAngelo and LaMelo are both committed to UCLA, too. Until then, keep watching for Chino Hills highlights.
