Selection Sunday 2016 live stream: How to watch NCAA Selection Show online

The road to the Final Four begins on Selection Sunday, when the entire bracket is unveiled. Find out how you can catch the show online.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The best part of the college basketball season is just beginning. The conference tournaments are nearing their completion and we’re just one week away from the NCAA Tournament. But first, we have to find out what the bracket will look like on Sunday’s Selection Show, which you can stream online at NCAA.com.

The big change to this year’s show is that it’s been expanded to two hours, allowing for more interview time with the selection committee while also ramping up the suspense for bracket announcements.

The NCAA selection committee has a certain kind of mysticism in the eyes of college basketball fans, but the process they use to build the NCAA Tournament is fairly simple on the surface. Their three big goals, in order:

1. Select the 36 best at-large teams
2. Seed the field of 68 teams
3. Place the teams into the championship bracket

Of course, there is way more that goes into it than that, with a bunch of rules and exceptions (conference rivals can’t meet before the Sweet 16, for instance), but for the most part it can be pretty straightforward.

Once the Selection Show gets underway we’ll already know the 32 automatic bids, so there will be 36 at-large spots up for grabs. Kansas, Villanova, Oklahoma, Virginia, Michigan State and North Carolina are among the favorites to land a No. 1 seed.

How to stream online:
