2016 ACC Tournament schedule and bracket: Florida State, Boston College, NC State and Wake Forest tip off

The power conference tournaments start Tuesday.

The ACC is the largest league in the country, with 15 teams, and that means a five-day tournament that starts Tuesday, with two of the, shall we say, less interesting matchups of the postseason. The PR folks are trying hard to push this one.

That said, there’s still a lot on the line on Tuesday. Florida State has an outside shot of making an NCAA Tournament run, and the Seminoles can still make the NIT. However, if they lose their first game to Boston College, they’ll be in real danger of missing out on the NIT all together. On the flip side of that game, the Eagles are looking for their first conference win of the 2015-16 season, after going winless in the regular conference season in both football and basketball.

The other matchup, between Wake Forest and NC State, likely doesn’t have any postseason tournament implications, but it does give the Wolfpack a chance to go on a run. Despite their disappointing 15-16 finish to the season, they do have talent. Led by Anthony Barber, they have wins over Pitt, Miami and Clemson this year.

Here’s Tuesday’s schedule (All times ET):

Game 1: No. 12 NC State vs. No. 13 Wake Forest (12 p.m., ESPN2)
Game 2: No. 11 Florida State, No. 14 Boston College (2:30 p.m., ESPN2)
