March Madness 2017 live stream: How to watch NCAA tournament bracket announcement online

The 68-team NCAA Tournament bracket will be filled out on Sunday. Here’s how you watch.

They say the real NBA season doesn’t begin until the playoffs. The same can be said about the college basketball season and the craze that surrounds March Madness.

The conference tournaments are nearly finished, and that means the 2017 NCAA Tournament is almost upon us. But before we can get to the Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four or the championship game, we’ve got to see how the bracket pans out on Sunday’s Selection Show airing on CBS and streaming on NCAA.com at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The selection process goes through three phases, per the NCAA: selecting the 36 best at-large teams, seeding the field of 68 teams, and placing each team into the championship bracket. It’s handled by a committee analyzing gobs of information through conversations with coaches, athletics directors, and commissioners, and thoroughly forming an opinion before determining the seeding.

And once each of the seeds is determined and the bracket has been filled out, the year’s best basketball gets underway.

Fans will see highly touted point guard Lonzo Ball and UCLA attempt to claw through the opposition. The road won’t be easy. Kansas and Josh Jackson will look to reign supreme after taking a loss to unranked TCU in the Big 12 Tournament. Then there’s the defending champion Villanova Wildcats, who won last season’s Tournament behind Kris Jenkins’ game-winning three-pointer against North Carolina.

The list goes on, with teams like Gonzaga, North Carolina, Oregon, Arizona, and Kentucky each looking to get a shot at the big dance. Each of those teams will likely be among the 32 automatic bids into the Tournament.

That leaves 36 at-large spots across each of the Division-I conferences to be announced during Sunday’s selection show.
