The Oregon Ducks are going to the Sweet 16 in the 2017 NCAA tournament. The third-seeded Ducks outlasted No. 11 Rhode Island 75-72 on Sunday night in Sacramento. It took a furious second half rally for the Ducks to steal the victory.

The Ducks are moving to the Sweet 16 thanks to a 7-0 run at the end of the game.


Tyler Dorsey was the star of the show for Oregon. The sophomore guard hit the go-ahead three on the Ducks’ final possession to finish with 27 points on the night. Rhode Island had one final chance, but its three-point attempt was an airball.
Oregon closed the game on a 7-0 run.
Rhode Island led by eight at halftime, but Oregon would roar back. Dorsey and Dillon Brooks did the heavy lifting for the Ducks’ offense, with both hitting clutch shots to keep the game close down the stretch.
The breakout player for Rhode Island was Stanford Robinson, the junior guard who went off for 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field off the bench.
Rhode Island entered on a nine-game winning streak. The Rams, who hadn’t lost since Feb. 15, needed that streak just to make the NCAA tournament. This is the end of a valiant run.
Oregon will now take on Michigan in the Kansas City regional after John Beilein’s team outlasted Louisville in a thriller Sunday morning.
