Duke and Villanova both losing means your March Madness bracket isn’t as busted as you think

So much good.

One of the most talented Duke teams Coach K’s ever had was upset in the second round of the NCAA tournament by No. 7 South Carolina.

Duke’s loss also had major bracket implications. People who picked Villanova to reach the Final Four out of the East Region momentarily thought their bracket was ready for the dumpster. Not anymore. With Duke going down as well, the East Region is a bust for almost everyone.

The East Region has now lost its No. 1 seed in Villanova and No. 2 seed in Duke. The 45.5 percent of people who picked Villanova in the Final Four might want to find the shredded pieces of their bracket again, because according to Business Insider, the 39.2 percent of people who picked Duke have joined them in this chaos.

As long as you didn’t pick Nova to advance further than the Final Four, chances are you won’t lose much ground, unless you’re up against the five percent of people who picked No. 3 seed Baylor and 3.2 percent who picked No. 4 Florida.

That’s what makes this Duke loss even sweeter. Brackets have been resuscitated, as 84.7 percent of people live in similar East Region hell. Congrats to the Bears and Gators believers, but there’s still time for this region to get even sloppier.

Oh, and here you go. Here are some sad Duke pictures.
