The quarterfinals of the 2017 ACC tournament are set after an exciting opening round. There are four games scheduled on Thursday as action continues at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
2017 ACC Tournament schedule and bracket: Duke vs. Louisville highlights Thursday’s action
The ACC tournament is getting serious as the quarterfinals pick up on Thursday.

The opening game of the day features top-seeded North Carolina against Miami. The Hurricanes got here by outlasting Syracuse on Wednesday behind a strong effort from starters Kamari Murphy (16 points) and Davon Reed (14) points. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels are eying a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with a quality showing in Brooklyn.
The marquee game of the day pits Duke vs. Louisville at 2 p.m. ET. The Blue Devils were the preseason No. 1 but struggled to live up to expectations during the regular season. Duke beat Clemson on Tuesday despite zero points from star guard Grayson Allen. Louisville, with one of the top defenses in the country, will be a stiff test. The Cards are led by breakout sophomore Donovan Mitchell, who follows in the mold of the great Rick Pitino guards of the past.
The two night games are Virginia Tech vs. Florida State and Virginia vs. Notre Dame. The latter is a classic battle of a top defense (Virginia) against Notre Dame’s prolific pace-and-space offense. The Irish have been to the Elite Eight the last two seasons and are looking to make another extended run in March.
