It took everything Mississippi State had. The Bulldogs led throughout the game. They nearly won in regulation. They took the UConn Huskies, winners of 111 straight games, to overtime. And they won it there.
UConn vs. Mississippi State final score: Morgan William’s buzzer-beater snaps Huskies’ 111-game winning streak
UConn’s dynasty is over. The Bulldogs snapped the streak at the buzzer.

In one of the best games we’ve ever seen, Mississippi State beat the UConn Huskies 66-64 on Morgan William’s game-winning pull-up jumper. Step by step, blow by blow, Mississippi State stayed with UConn, even when the Huskies came roaring back.
The lead changed sides constantly in the final minutes and overtime period. After Victoria Vivians nailed an ice cold triple and Napheesa Collier tied it at 60, both teams had shots to win it. This incredible block from Gabby Williams forced overtime.
The first half put everyone on notice. Mississippi State led 22-13 after the first quarter and came out blazing in the second, expanding the lead to 16 points for a moment. UConn struggled to find open shots — and really, just shots in general. In the first half, the Huskies were literally doubled up in shot attempts, 36 to 18.
UConn’s eight-point deficit at halftime was larger than any they faced during their 111-game winning streak, and was only the second time they had trailed at halftime this season. (The other was the season opener against Florida State, where they trailed by four.) Still, the Huskies quickly regained their form and tied the game in the third quarter.
It’s incredible where Mississippi State came from, though. This is what happened a year ago.
To go from a 60-point loss to beating UConn — UCONN — is incredible. It feels damn near impossible. But they did it.
