The player at the center of of the FBI’s investigation into Louisville basketball has found a new home. Brian Bowen, a five-star prospect, has committed to Frank Martin’s South Carolina Gamecocks, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

Frank Martin is taking in the former McDonald’s All-American.


Bowen has been admitted into the university and will seek reinstatement from the NCAA, according to the report.
Bowen was identified as “Player-10” in the FBI report. His family allegedly agreed to accept from $100K from Adidas for his commitment to the Cardinals. Bowen has maintained he had no knowledge of the payment. The FBI eventually cleared him.
The Bowen scandal proved to be the final straw for Louisville head coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich, both of whom were effectively fired. Louisville was already on NCAA probation for the program’s escort scandal in 2015.
Bowen was a McDonald’s All-American in the high school class of 2017. If he can get back on the court, he projects to give South Carolina a shooter on the wing. He visited the university this past weekend, per Goodman.
The Gamecocks are 10-6 this season after a surprise run to the Final Four last year.
