Duke will be without head coach Mike Krzyzewski when the team takes on Wake Forest Saturday afternoon in Durham. The Hall of Fame head coach is apparently fighting a virus.

Associate head coach Jeff Capel will lead the Blue Devils against the Demon Deacons.

With Coach K out, Duke will be captained by associate head coach Jeff Capel.
Saturday’s news comes a little over a year after it was revealed that Capel would be filling in for Krzyzewski for a longer period of time. On Jan. 2, 2017, Duke announced that Coach K would be out indefinitely after undergoing lower back surgery to remove a fragment of a herniated disc. Krzyzewski returned to the sidelines exactly a month later. The Blue Devils went 4-3 with Capel running the show.
No. 7 Duke enters Saturday’s game with a 14-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference play. Wake Forest is 8-8 and just 1-3 in the conference.
