It seems like every Oklahoma game gives us a new chapter in the brief but ever-evolving Legend of Trae Young. Saturday was no different.
Trae Young’s most ridiculous shots from Oklahoma’s OT win vs. TCU, ranked
The Oklahoma freshman superstar was at it again on Saturday.

Young knocked down 10 of 18 three-pointers and matched a career-high with 43 points in No. 9 Oklahoma’s 102-97 win over No. 16 TCU. The runaway leader in the national Player of the Year race also chipped in 11 rebounds and seven assists for good measure.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, Young became just the fourth player in Oklahoma history to score 40 or more points multiple times, joining Wayman Tisdale (5), Stacey King (2), and Jeff Webster (2). He also notched his ninth double-double of the season, the most of any player in the Big 12.
While the rebound and assist totals were impressive, the real star of the show on Saturday was Young’s assault from beyond the three-point line. So without further adieu, here are the five best triples the superstar put up:
1. TCU defender gets lost in the sauce.
2. This ridiculous three to tie the game near the end of regulation.
3. When the unconscious run to end regulation really got going.
4. Putting things on ice in OT.
5. We should have known it was going to be a special afternoon for Young based on the game’s opening possession.
On the flip side of the coin, this loss was the latest in a string of heartbreaking defeats for No. 16 TCU. The Horned Frogs fell to 1-4 in the Big 12, but that record doesn’t tell the story of how competitive the Horned Frogs have been in the country’s most competitive conference. TCU’s four losses include Saturday’s overtime heartbreaker, a one-point double overtime loss to Texas on Wednesday, a 90-89 loss in their first meeting against Oklahoma, and an 88-84 loss to Kansas in a game TCU led for a significant chunk.
The surprising Sooners improved to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12 with Saturday’s win. The Trae Young Show resumes Tuesday night at Kansas State.
