Did Grayson Allen try to trip another player in Duke’s loss to Virginia?
The Duke senior was involved in a questionable play on Saturday against Virginia.

Grayson Allen has been suspiciously quiet this season. After spending the first three seasons of his career becoming the most infamous player in college basketball, the Duke senior has kept a low profile thus far. Aside from one terrific night in Chicago against Michigan State, most of the conversation around Duke has focused on Marvin Bagley III, not the play — or antics — of Allen.
Perhaps that’s about to change. Allen was involved in multiple sequences that caught the Internet’s attention in a tight loss to Virginia on Saturday. Most notably, the play above where Allen may or may not have tried to trip Virginia’s Kyle Guy while fighting over a screen.
Allen has had three highly publicized tripping incidents. This is also not the first time the public has wondered if he’s attempted to trip other players.
Here’s another play where Allen may or may not have exaggerated a foul (a less friendly term would be “flop”), then shoved away the hand of Guy as he attempted to help him up:
Allen played all 40 minutes and scored only five points as Duke fell to Virginia, 65-63. The Blue Devils are now three games behind the Cavaliers in the ACC race.
