Less than 48 hours after they were on the Coors Events Center floor following an upset of No. 4 Arizona State, the Colorado students were at it again. The Buffaloes shot 54.7 percent from the field and held No. 14 Arizona to 38.4 percent on their way to an 80-77 upset in Boulder on Saturday.
Colorado upsets No. 4 Arizona State and No. 14 Arizona in under 48 hours
It was a week to remember for the Buffs.

The sweep of the Arizona schools marks a potentially seismic shift in the season for Colorado. Tad Boyle’s team entered the week with an overall record of just 8-6 and an 0-2 mark in Pac-12 play. Those two conference losses came on the road against Oregon and Oregon State by a combined 34 points.
For Arizona, the loss snaps a nine-game winning streak. That streak started after the team returned home from an 0-3 performance at the Battle 4 Atlantis, one which dropped them from No. 2 in the AP top 25 poll to out of the rankings entirely in a single week.
Five players scored in double figures for Colorado, which was led by freshman guard McKinley Wright’s 16 points and 10 assists. Arizona was knocked off despite getting 26 points from freshman sensation DeAndre Ayton.
Saturday’s win marks the first time in Colorado basketball history that the Buffs have defeated two top 25 opponents in the span of three days. Give credit to the altitude if you want, but this is a CU team that within the last month was beaten at home by San Diego (69-59) and an Iowa team (80-73) that is currently 0-4 in the Big Ten. Not that this matters to anyone who got to court storm twice in 48 hours.
