NCAA Tournament 2018: Bracket, schedule, scores, teams, and more

Here come the Sweet 16 bids.

Kelly Ross-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan 64, Houston 63, FINAL:

This nailbiter came down to the wire, with Jordan Poole erasing a two-point deficit thanks to a last-second three that stunned Houston and sent Michigan to the Sweet 16.

Texas Tech 69, Florida 66, FINAL:

The Red Raiders are back in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2005 thanks to a stunning performance by Keenan Evans.

Gonzaga 90, Ohio State 84, FINAL:

The Zags weathered a decent storm from Ohio State to keep the Buckeyes at bay and secure yet another Sweet 16 berth. Gonzaga pounced on Ohio State early racing out to a 13-0 lead. The game rubber banded, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the end.

Ohio State 62, Gonzaga 58, 8:00 2H:

The Buckeyes and Zags have pulled off a wild, back-and-forth affair up to now, and Ohio State has ridden an impressive scoring string since the middle of the first half to ring up a four-point lead on the Bulldogs. We’re deep into it here, folks.

Kansas 83, Seton Hall 79, FINAL:

WELP, we wrote that this one wasn’t over, and Kansas went and put a fork in it, at least for a time. Seton Hall fought valiantly, draining three consecutive shots to pull within three a pair of times, but the Jayhawks made their free throws and closed out the Pirates’ tournament hopes. Tough loss for the Hall.

Kansas 63, Seton Hall 59, 4:01 2H:

Seton Hall tripped coming out of halftime and allowed Kansas to build up a nine-point lead, but the Pirates have battled back through the middle stretch of the second period to tighten things up on the strength of a much needed three pointer from the right wing. This one ain’t over yet.

Loyola Chicago 63, Tennessee 62, FINAL:

The Ramblers were firmly in control for large stretches of the second half — building out leads as large as 10 points — but Tennessee reigned them back in to bring the score to 61-59 with under a minute to go. The Volunteers then hit a runner in the lane to even the score at 61 with 20 seconds remaining, then went up by one, 62-61, with 10 seconds to go.

Loyola then answered with a runner of their own to seal the win in the closing seconds, 63-62.

Kansas 31, Seton Hall 26, HALF:

The first quarter has been a largely back-and-forth affair, with neither team really gaining much separation. Seton Hall leapt out to a 24-20 about halfway through the opening frame, but Kansas picked up their play and hit a dagger three from the right wing to take the teams into recess.

Loyola Chicago 50, Tennessee 41, 10:00 2H:

There’s a lot of time left, but Loyola has controlled the pace of this entire game. The Ramblers might be the realest Cinderella of the tournament.

Kentucky 95, Buffalo 75, Final:

It was a tough fight for the Bulls, but their Cinderella season ends. Kentucky has a clear path to the Elite Eight now with Arizona and Tennessee out of the picture.

Loyola Chicago 29, Tennessee 25, Half:

Admiral Schofield has 11 points on six shots, but Sisten Jean might’ve been on to something!

Sister Jean Update:

Tennessee 15, Loyola 8, 4:44 1H:

The Volunteers are off to a strong start.

Kentucky 51, Buffalo 42, HALF:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has 17 points in the first half, but the Bulls are still here. Will they be this year’s Cinderella?

HAMIDOU DIALLO UPDATE:

Kentucky 35, Buffalo 27, 6:42 1H:

Buffalo is not messing around here, and hanging in with the Wildcats. Even if Kentucky has had some highlight plays.

Duke 87, Rhode Island 62, HALF:

The Blue Devils are off to the Sweet 16, just as we all suspected.

Duke 45, Rhode Island 28, HALF:

Folks, I think we know where this game is headed.

Duke 26, Rhode Island 14, 8:13 1H:

Marvin Bagley and Wendell Carter have the Blue Devils on a roll early. That Grayson Allen guy is pretty good too.

Villanova 81, Alabama 58, Final:

The Tide gave the Wildcats a game for some of the first half, but then Villanova, Nova’d. They’ll be the favorite to cut down the nets now with Virginia already out and its easy to see why.

Villanova 71, Alabama 45, 5:00 2H:

Sexton scored over Bridges, but then he’s hit with a technical foul for cursing at the Wildcat. This one is done.

Villanova 67, Alabama 40, 7:23 2H:

FOLKS, this one is all but over. We are not worthy of Mikal Bridges. He has 23 points on 15 shots, and he’s draining everything.

Villanova 32, Alabama 27, HALF:

DiVincenzo is going OFF for the Wildcats, and they hold a slight lead over the Tide.

Eight Sweet 16 bids will be handed out on Saturday as the NCAA Tournament proceeds to the second round. After the chaos that is No. 16 UMBC beating No. 1 Villanova last night, we know that anything is possible.

Two more No. 1 seeds are in action on Saturday. Villanova will take on No. 9 Alabama and future lottery pick Collin Sexton. The point guard was made to bust brackets. No. 1 Kansas, behind one of the best guards in the league, Devonte Graham, will play No. 8 Seton Hall.

Two Cinderella teams will also look to continue their journey in the tourney. No. 11 Loyola Chicago, which beat Miami just ahead of the buzzer on Thursday, plays No. 3 Tennessee. No. 13 Buffalo, which knocked off No. 4 Arizona easily, will play No. 5 Kentucky, and look to batter down the South Region even further.

For those who selected Arizona or Virginia to advance far, you’re rooting for these upsets. The South Region is already burning down, and could be in complete shambles by the end of Saturday night.

Rounding out the rest of play is No. 2 Duke against No. 7 Rhode Island, No. 4 Gonzaga vs. No. 5 Ohio State, No. 3 Texas Tech vs. No. 6 Florida and No. 3 Michigan vs. No. 6 Houston.

This Is March. Time for some more upsets.
