Mariah Musselman will interview Sister Jean before the Loyola-Chicago vs. Nevada game

Yes!

The biggest stars of the 2018 NCAA tournament haven’t been the players. Instead, Sister Jean, a Loyola-Chicago fan and team chaplain, and Mariah Musselman, the daughter of Nevada head coach Eric Musselman, have taken over March. Delightfully, we’ll be treated to an interview between the two ahead of their teams’ 7:07 p.m. ET Thursday night matchup on CBS. The interview will air at 6 p.m. ET.

For those who don’t know, Sister Jean is a 98-year-old nun who picked her Loyola-Chicago Ramblers to advance to the Sweet 16 and no further. She also provides scouting reports and pregame speeches for her team. With each interview — including the time she corrected a reporter that she isn’t just a national sensation, she’s an international sensation — she’s grabbed our attention.

Her pre-Sweet 16 interview will be led by Mariah Musselman, the 8-year-old daughter of Nevada’s head coach, who’s been on-air before. The elementary school kid was already known to Wolf Pack fans, but now the world has seen her cheer on her team, and interview her father with promises to not go easy on him.

The winner of Loyola-Chicago and Nevada will advance to the Elite Eight, while the loser goes home. It would be Nevada’s first trip ever to that round, and Loyola-Chicago’s first in 55 years. It’ll be an emotional night for the memes we cherish, but at the very least we’ll get to see the two have what should be a lovely conversation between people nine decades apart in age.

We don’t know much yet, other than that Musselman will ask Sister Jean “Why do you like being a nun?” according to the Reno Gazette Journal. Musselman’s father gave us a slight preview, too:
