Loyola-Chicago’s Cinderella NCAA Tournament run continued on Thursday night with a thrilling 69-68 victory over Nevada in the Sweet 16. Aside from what was a huge win for the program, there’s something very important we need to discuss here — Ramblers head coach Porter Moser’s suit, shirt, and tie combination:
Loyola-Chicago’s only weakness might be coach Porter Moser’s fashion game

OK, there’s a lot happening here, so let’s break this down, and bear with me because I don’t even know how to describe half these patterns:
- A blue and white checkered shirt: This is fine! It looks good! Nothing wrong with this shirt choice whatsoever.
- A subtly checkered green, blue, and brown suit jacket? OK, I’m not sure how this was the absolute best jacket to wear with this shirt, but a little mismatching is fine sometimes, I think!
- A gold tie with hints of blue and purple and some sort of flower (?) pattern oh my god my eyes, my eyes coach.
Please take a look at this horror story of a combination further:
I just don’t understand/want to know who picked this out for him, and maybe want to help them (or him).
Somehow, even without the jacket it doesn’t look that much better.
Twitter was having the same thoughts as I was during the game, too:
I hope this is sarcasm, to be honest.
Porter Moser’s style on the court hasn’t gone unnoticed — last summer, mid-major blog Mid-Major Madness named him as one of the worst-dressed coaches in college basketball:
The current Loyola Chicago coach finds his way onto this list per the request of our site’s Loyola expert, Gianna Marshall. As she wrote in our Slack channel when suggesting Moser for this piece, he “on average wears 2-3 prints that don’t go together.”
We’ll see if Moser wears anything different on Saturday night when his team faces Kansas State in the South Regional Final.
