Down four points late in the game, you usually see teams go for broke and do everything they can to claw back in the game. This usually takes the form of fouling until kingdom come to extend the game. But Florida State let the clock run out against Michigan, and fell 58-54 as the final 10 seconds went off the clock without an action.
Florida State’s decision not to foul at the end of the game against Michigan probably cost some people some money
We hope hope you didn’t bet on Michigan to cover.

For a certain segment of folks that non-foul was even more significant. The betting line at some books was Michigan as a 4.5-point favorite, and a free throw on the line could have covered the spread.
Beyond the monetary implications, however, it was a weird decision to make from a coaching standpoint. But don’t question FSU coach Leonard Hamilton on the late-game decisions.
Maybe reporters aren’t owed a straight answer from Hamilton, but bettors who lost some cash on the ball game at the end probably really want to give Hamilton a piece of their mind.
