The 2018 installment of March Madness hasn’t even reached the NCAA Tournament stage, but it already has a defining (and awesome) trend: The teardrop buzzer-beater.
Memphis beat Tulsa on the most beautiful teardrop buzzer-beater you’ll ever see
March, 2018: The month of the floater game-winner.

First there was Colin Sexton saving Alabama’s season and stunning Texas A&M at the buzzer on Thursday. Now we’ve got this from Memphis’ Kareem Brewton Jr. at the buzzer against Tulsa in Friday’s AAC tournament quarterfinals.
That’s about as gorgeous a buzzer-beater as you’re ever going to see. Like a combination of what we saw from Sexton on Thursday and the famous Gerry McNamara shot against Cincinnati in the 2006 Big East Tournament.
Wild quarterfinal games are nothing new to the American Athletic Conference. Who could forget UConn/Cincinnati two years ago?
If you’re watching daytime basketball on Championship Week Friday, the AAC is always a safe bet.
