SEC tournament bracket updates, live scores, schedule, and more for 2025 men’s field

The SEC men’s basketball tournament is comically loaded. This is going to be so good.

The SEC was a laughing stock in men’s basketball not long ago. In 2025, it produced perhaps the greatest conference in the modern history of the sport.

The SEC tournament is going to be incredible theater. With national favorites like Auburn, Florida, and Alabama sitting on top of the bracket, the 2025 men’s SEC tournament is going to be a thrilling prequel to the NCAA tournament. The fun gets started in Nashville on Wednesday with a champion crowned on Sunday just before the Selection Committee reveals the bracket for the big dance.

The SEC is projected to get 13 teams in the NCAA tournament field, but there’s room for more. Oklahoma is currently on the right side of the bubble according to most projections, while Texas falls just short. There are major seeding implications for just about everyone else.

Auburn has been a powerhouse all year long with a veteran team led by National Player of the Year co-frontrunner Johni Broome. The Tigers have showed some vulnerability lately as nagging injuries start to mount, and it will be fascinating to see how hard they push for a conference tournament title. Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee have each looked like No. 1 seeds themselves at times during this season, and the Gators in particular seem to be peaking at the right time with big man Alex Condon developing into a force.

With so many teams bound for the NCAA tournament, the SEC tournament is going to be the ultimate tune-up test for the big dance. Here’s the full bracket, with live scores and everything else you need to know.

SEC tournament stakes for 2025 men’s field

The SEC tournament is chalk full of NCAA tournament teams, but seeding is still on the line for most of them. Auburn can pencil in its No. 1 seed, but Florida, Alabama, and maybe even Tennessee can get there too by winning the conference tournament. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Texas A&M is looking to solidify its No. 3 seed in the big dance by winning a couple games in the conference tournament. Kentucky doesn’t want to slip to the five-line in Mark Pope’s first season, and will get more chances for quality wins the longer they advance in Nashville. Ole Miss wants to prove they are a legitimate March Madness sleeper behind Chris Beard.

Texas and Oklahoma face the most pressure here as the bubble teams. The Sooners have been so up-and-down this season, but they have plenty of experienced talent around freshman guard Jeremiah Fears. Texas has been even more frustrating, but Tre Johnson is one of the most thrilling offensive players in the country. Every time he laces them up, the Longhorns have a chance.
