Aziz Shittu Uses Twitter To Get Back In Touch With Oregon

Everyone is using Twitter these days, and that includes recruits. Sometimes, a recruit can get in a bit of trouble, as may have happened with Yuri Wright earlier this week. Some recruits, however, are using Twitter for things actually related to recruiting. Many now announce their commitments to the world with the social media tool.

But this might be the first instance of a high-profile recruit using Twitter to ask for the contact info of a school.

For those who are unaware, that’s Aziz Shittu, an excellent defensive line recruit out of Atwater (Calif.) Buhach High School. Shittu is 6’3” and 280 pounds. There’s some debate about his position at the next level, be it defensive end or tackle, but there’s no debate that he’s a top prospect.

Shittu is apparently interested in Oregon, again. Before the huge shakeup with defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi moving from Cal to Washington, Shittu was thought to be a lean to Cal or Stanford. Where he ends up now is anybody’s guess. But it appears Oregon might have something to say in this recruitment.
