Nebraska’s small recruiting class got better on Tuesday night, as Avery Moss and Jared Afalava both committed during the Semper Fi Bowl (new all-star game), reports Andy Ketterson of Corn Nation.
Nebraska Recruiting: Avery Moss And Jared Afalava Commit
Huskers add two defenders to their recruiting class.

Moss is a defensive end our of Tempe, Ariz. Here’s Corn Nation’s take:
Moss is rated as the #12 player in Arizona and 31st nationally at his position. He is 6’4” 245 and was also offered scholarships by Arizona, ASU, Purdue, Stanford, Washington and Wazzu. He is the current teammate and cousin of five-star offensive line prospect Andrus Peat who is also considering a commitment to the Huskers. Of course, it is hoped that this commitment, plus the presence on the roster of Andrus’ brother, redshirt freshman Todd Peat, will help to convince the younger Peat that a commitment to the Big Red is not just the wisest life decision he could make to this point - it’s simply kismet.
Afalava is not as highly rated, but is still a good prospect. He’s out of Utah, with a solid frame (6’3”, 215 pounds) and the chance to grow. He won’t be asked to come in and start immediately. Ketterson says that Afalava has been told by Neberaska coaches that he will be groomed as a middle linebacker. Afalava also had offers from BYU and UCLA.
