The Louisville Cardinals and head coach Charlie Strong are looking at a second-consecutive strong recruiting outing, thanks in large part to Strong's Florida connections. The former assistant in the Sunshine State has pulled some quality talent from there and gotten them to make the trek north to the state of Kentucky.
National Signing Day 2012: Louisville, Charlie Strong Build Another Strong Class
Nick Dawson, the four-star linebacker whom many consider to be the crown jewel of Charlie Strong’s recruiting class of 2012, was the first Louisville commitment to fax in his signed letter of intent on national signing day. He’s alsoknows how to rock a killer bowtie.
The only semi-surprise addition of the day thus far has been the signing of Lamar Atkins, a linebacker out of Miami Norland. Atkins is the brother of Louisville signee Keith Brown, another quality Florida pick-up, and had previously been committed to Illinois with Brown.
At the moment, Louisville’s 2012 class ranked between second and fifth in the Big East among the major recruiting services, and between 37th and 42nd and overall in the FBS.
