TE Christian Morgan Narrows List To Four Schools

The big tight end is down to four schools.

2013 Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) tight end Christian Morgan is the most coveted uncommitted tight end in the state of Texas with 17 offers from around the country. On Thursday, he narrowed his list to four schools, revealed via Twitter:

The 6-5, 245-pounder also plays defensive end for his high school and is ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports, while Scout considers him a four-star recruit.

Other than Florida State, Morgan has visited each of the schools on his list, attending a camp at Baylor last week, the Ole Miss spring game and having made multiple trips to Arkansas, which appeared to be solidly in the lead for his services before the Bobby Petrino scandal.

Back in early May, Morgan said that he wants to make a decision prior to the start of his senior season ($), but will not decide on a timetable until after his visit to Florida State this weekend, which will be his first.

Still, the schools that receive the most visits typically hold the advantage in any recruitment, which would seem to favor Baylor and Arkansas.

One other factor in Morgan’s recruitment is that he has discussed playing in college with high school teammate Mike Mitchell, a defensive end/linebacker prospect whose recruitment is somewhat of a mystery at this point, though a source close to his recruitment has indicated that his father would like him to stay in state.

While such package deals are often discussed and rarely come to fruition, if Mitchell does opt to play football in the state of Texas and Morgan does join him, Baylor will be the destination for both Prestonwood stars.
